Wind Energy

Wind energy is a rapidly growing industry, with global installed capacity increasing at a compound annual growth rate of around 8% from 2010 to 2020. As the world looks to transition to cleaner, more sustainable forms of energy, wind energy is becoming an increasingly attractive option for investors.

Wind Energy

Wind energy is a clean and renewable energy source that harnesses the energy by using wind turbines that transform the energy into electricity. It reduces dependence on fossil fuels, and it produces electricity without emitting greenhouse gases which contribute to climate change; thus, it helps to fight climate change.

In order to meet its climate targets, “Europe installed 18.3 GW of new wind capacity in 2023 … Onshore wind made up 79% of new installations for a total of 14.5 GW.”

Almost 15-20% of the electricity supply of the EU is produced by installed wind energy capacity. It is also expected that the EU will have the capacity to install 200 GW new wind power capacity in the upcoming six years, until 2030.

Net electricity generation from wind in the United States

When it comes to the U.S., it is clearly seen that wind energy has become one of the major renewable energy sources in the country in terms of contributing national power grid and reducing carbon emissions. As of 2023, the USA had more than 140 GW installed wind capacity. Additionally, as the graph above shows, electricity generation from wind tends to increase, e.g., almost 20% of the US electricity supply is provided by wind energy.

Investment

Investing in wind energy is an attractive option for investors who are looking to invest in sustainable energy solutions and support the transition to a low-carbon economy. With the increasing demand for renewable energy and the decreasing costs of wind energy, investing in wind energy can be a profitable and socially responsible way to invest.

"Wind energy is a promising and profitable investment opportunity for investors who are looking to invest in clean and sustainable energy solutions, and support the transition to a low-carbon economy."

Opportunity

Additionally, wind energy is becoming a major source of electricity in many countries and it is expected to be a major source of electricity in the future, which makes it an attractive investment opportunity for the long-term. Furthermore, the wind energy industry is expected to continue to grow as technology improves, costs decrease, and governments around the world implement policies to promote the use of renewable energy.
